Project Management
CAMCO offers a professional project management team having all the competences and experiences to lead and manage complex gate automation projects. They combine a broad knowledge of hardware- and software systems with industry best practices and their personal experience gained during the multiple installations.
Management skills
Over the years we have developed unique project management skills on various types of projects. We introduced gate automation in green field terminal projects as well as in terminals in full operation. Both requiring a different approach and implementation: in operational terminals new technology has to be phased in gradually oposed to green field terminals where everything has to work from day one.
Green field projects
In complex green field projects CAMCO delivers software test platforms long before the physical installation of the infrastructure is effectively taking place. Test scenarios are defined and executed on the test-platforms together with the customer and/or TOS supplier. The missing links are replaced by simulators for OCR portals, TOS and kiosks. This approach allows to thoroughly test all software applications and interfaces in a lab environment, reducing the need to test everything after the physical installation which is more costly and time consuming. It offers all parties involved the focus and peace-of-mind that makes a project execution a smooth an operation as possible.

TOS migrations
Customers wanting to change their TOS while keeping the current gate infrastructure and equipment can count on CAMCO. We have again all competence and skills available to perform and assist in such migration operations.
In September 2009 CAMCO helped DP World Antwerp Gateway migrating successfully over one weekend to Zebra Navis N4, without major issues at the gates.
Infrastructure and Civil Works
Per project our engineers work closely together with the local project staff and other contractors to produce a detailed Infrastructure Engineering Document outlining all infrastructure, construction, electrical, data and IT hardware requirements and specifications. Once approved by all parties it will be the basic scenario that CAMCO follows during the execution of the infrastructural aspects of the project.
This way of working allows all parties to exactly know what is expected and what to expect from each other, preventing costly errors and timely discussions afterwards.

System Integration
The success of the implementation of a gate system depends greatly on its successful integration with other systems such as the Terminal Operating System, Access Control system, Customs...
Similar to the Infrastructure Engineering Document, CAMCO also provides a Business Process Engineering Document that outlines the detailed process flows of the complete gate operation, all the different GOS software modules that are used, as well as all the different data formats and protocols that are used to interface with the different other terminal host systems to insure a seamless data integration.
Security, Health and Safety
CAMCO takes Health and Safety of its own team members as well as local project people very serious. Our project managers spend significant time to make sure that CAMCO complies with the local health, safety and environmental regulations.
On top of that CAMCO invests significantly in training of its own installation engineers to operate safely equipment such as forklifts, height platforms and more...as well as Risk assessments and method statements.
